Transfer terms

The conditions attached to every extension sold here, including what the buyer commits to regarding the existing user base.

These terms apply to every extension listed on this site. They are short on purpose. Where a specific listing differs, the listing page says so.

What transfers

Each listing carries an explicit inclusion list. That list, as published at the time terms are agreed, is what transfers. Anything not on it does not transfer, and anything on it must be delivered in full before escrow releases.

What is warranted

The seller warrants that the extension is owned outright and free to transfer, that the published user numbers and country breakdown are exported unmodified from the relevant developer dashboard, that the source is complete and buildable, and that no undisclosed third-party code, tracker or monetisation is present.

What is not warranted

Future user numbers, future revenue, future store policy, and the outcome of any review the buyer submits after taking ownership. Store platforms change their rules and enforce them unevenly; nobody selling you an extension can promise otherwise.

Buyer commitments regarding the user base

This section is the reason the page exists.

An extension with an established user base is a channel into other people’s browsers, and that channel has been abused often enough to have a name. The pattern is consistent: an extension with a good reputation changes hands, and within a few releases it is injecting advertising, rewriting affiliate links, or exfiltrating browsing history from users who never agreed to any of it.

By purchasing an extension listed here, the buyer commits that they will not, in any update shipped to the inherited user base:

  • Introduce tracking or data collection that was not disclosed to those users and consented to
  • Inject advertising, rewrite affiliate links, or modify page content for commercial gain without clear disclosure and an opt-in
  • Add remotely-loaded code that changes the extension’s behaviour outside the store review process
  • Transfer, sell or otherwise expose the user base to a third party for those purposes
  • Use the extension’s permissions for anything materially outside the purpose users installed it for

These commitments exist because the users at the other end of the transfer did not get a vote. They are a condition of sale, not a suggestion.

If a buyer will not agree

Then there is no sale. This is not negotiable and no price changes it. A buyer whose plan requires the freedom to do any of the above is telling you exactly what they intend, and the correct response is to end the conversation.

Disputes

Disputes during a transfer are handled by the escrow provider under their own process, which is why the inclusion list is written down before funds move. Disputes after release are a matter between the parties.

Governing law

Any dispute not resolved by the escrow provider is governed by the laws of the seller’s country of residence, unless the parties agree otherwise in writing before escrow is funded.
